The Elegushi of Ikateland, HRM Oba Saheed Elegushi, has reportedly welcomed a baby girl with his lover, an Edo-born princess called Tonya Lawani.

His silence since the birth of the new princess has left some tongues wagging – though sources confirmed that the king had visited the US to see the new daughter.

She gave birth to her princess a few weeks back in the United States and both mum and the new tot are doing very well, we have reliably gathered.
About three years and half years ago, Kano-born beauty, Olori Hadiza became the second queen in the Elegushi palace after Oba Saheed’s many years of marriage to his first wife, Queen Sekinat Elegushi (that produced three daughters). It was her birthday few days back and the monarch was full of sweet words he showered as he celebrated her on the day.

Recall that in March this year, he lost his only son and heir apparent to the throne (from Queen Hadiza). The young prince was just one year and seven months old before his unfortunate death. Oba Elegushi married Hadiza, the Kano-born daughter of renowned politician, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai in May 2020. They had a Nikkai in Abuja.
The fresh mum, Tonya Lawani is a rich lady who runs the SEAL Group – one of the fastest growing conglomeratea in Nigeria. She is well-connected and is close to a couple of influential personalities around. We reported earlier that we couldn’t confirm if the monarch has performed any marital rites on the incoming Olori. The birth of the princess may have also changed the dynamics, going by gists from our sources. But those who are familiar with the ways of the handsome would recall that when he picked the second Olori, he was also discreet about it.
