One of the pieces of news currently dominating the entertainment circuit is that of the King of Fuji music, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal better known as K1, who is reported to have taken a new wife. The acclaimed new wife is known as Emmanuella who is said to be an event planner in Lagos State. And the story is that, Mayegun of Yoruba Land as K1 is also called, has taken the beautiful Emmanuella as his newest wife.
To some people, that must have come as a surprise. And to others, it must have been seen as an expected development. Especially, when the track record of K1 and the women who have come into his life at different times, is considered. However, those who may have found the new development a bit surprising might have looked at the situation from the perspective of how K1 celebrated the penultimate wife of his, Titi Masha, to high heavens when she newly came into his life. And, it certainly seemed back then that, no other wife would come after her.
As it is, Emmanuella would be the third woman in the life of the Fuji music legend that he would be bringing to the public glare. So, who was the first wife, on record, to be celebrated publicly by K1? Her name is Yewande, whom K1 would romantically call, Wendy. Though, before Wendy, there were already some women who had been with K1, and bore him children for him, but Wendy was, certainly, the apple of K1’s eyes when their romance still had it’s sparkles, many years ago. K1 pampered her so much that, he was always willing to announce her name, in his music, as the woman after his heart.
Wendy occupied so much space in K1’s heart, back then, that no one would have thought that, any other woman would have any space to stay in the musician’s heart. But like a rumour, the story started filtering into town that, there was one pretty Titi Masha somewhere that, K1 was planning to marry after Wendy. Many people did not believe it initially, based on the amount of “undiluted” love that K1 had professed to Wendy publicly, all along. But, before everyone would know what was happening, K1 stepped out with Titi Masha, and the rest of the story as they say, is history.
Meanwhile, the intriguing thing about the development back then was that, the moment Titi Masha stepped into the picture, Wendy went into thing air. Nothing much was heard about her again other than the snippet that, she had relocated to Canada with her kids. And, there came Titi Masha on the scene. For her too, K1 rolled out the drums to present her to the world as the new apple of his eyes. And, Titi Masha kept enjoying all the public attention that K1 brought her way. The Fuji Legend would sing about his undying love for her at most of his musical outings. And, she would revel in the euphoria of it, deeply.
And, for many followers of K1 who is already 64 years, the thinking had been that, K1 had reached the last stop as far as taking a wife was concerned. So, that must have been partly responsible for the disbelieve from most people when the news of the coming of Emmanuella started filtering in. But as it is, it has become more of reality, than just a rumour. K1 has been seen stepping out with Emmanuella as the new woman in his life. So, let her rule the scene like others before her did. As at the last check, K1 has started celebrating her publicly on his verified Instagram handle by posting different beautiful pictures of hers accompanied with sweet panegyrics.
It is only hoped that, she would not have to step aside for another beautiful woman sometime in the future.
