Popular nollywood actress, Kenny George, has taken to her Instagram page to warn her colleagues in the entertainment industry that it is not the responsibility of the industry to take care of them.
She said the industry can’t see to all of their needs as that is not it’s function or purpose.
Kenny explained that the entertainment industry is just a tool used to achieve a purpose.
The actress advised her colleagues in the industry to always take responsibility for their needs both artistic and otherwise. She said what they can do with the entertainment industry is to use it to drive home their goals.
The industry doesn’t have the ability to see to any of your needs. That’s not it’s function or purpose. It’s a tool. Nothing more, nothing less.In order to find success, you’re going to have to decide (and it is a choice) to take responsibility for your own needs (artistic and otherwise), your own career, and use the industry, where possible, to achieve those goals. Leadership is essential.When you assume the industry can take care of you, and spend any amount of time sitting on your couch, hoping that one day it will grant you access, artistic and professional success never happen.
