Singer, Patoranking recounts how Timaya pulled him out of the ghetto and changed his life (video)

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known as Patoranking, a popular Nigerian artist, has spoken about how his colleague Timaya aided his career.
According to the reggae-dancehall singer and composer, he dragged Timaya out of the slums in 2007, sheltered him in 2011, and forced him to record a hit song after meeting him in 2007.

He revealed his hit song, ‘Alubarika’, featuring Timaya brought him fame and fortune.

While appreciating the veteran singer for going all out to support him at the beginning of his career, Patoranking noted that he wouldn’t have come this far without Timaya.

Meanwhile, Patoranking has revealed that most of his songs and songwriting skills are inspired by his ghetto upbringing.

The singer made this known while answering questions from Pan-African Music content creator.

The ”Abule’ croonerr explained that the hit song from his recent album “Three”, is a sort of ode to life in the ghetto.

In his words,

“Abule simply means hood or ghetto. So when making a song, all I do is just have a reflection about where I come. from and then I write. I was thinking about the party life in the ghetto, how we party, how it is, the things that happen there.”
