Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems are currently trending on Twitter following news they have been remanded in prisons for flouting COVID-19 guidelines in Uganda. 


Nigerians are currently reacting in anger on Twitter after fast-rising stars Omah Lay and Tems were arrested for flouting COVID-19 guidelines in Uganda. 

The pair were arrested on Sunday, December 13, together with their managers for holding an illegal concert at Ddungu resort in Munyonyo where they gathered big crowds despite President Yoweri Museveni’s directives on the prevention of the spread of Covid-19.

Today, Omah Lay and Tems were arraigned before the Makindye Division court in Kampala and remanded in different prisons till Wednesday, December 16.

Nigerian celebrities including Burna Boy, Runtown,  Peter Okoye, DJ Spinall, Tacha, Teni, Do2tun, Fireboy DML, Mr. Macaroni, and others have taken to their social media accounts to call for the immediate release of both Omah Lay and Tems.
