Movie Producer, Seun Egbegbe Arrives The Federal High Court Years After Stealing 11 iPhones

Seun Egbegbe, a film producer who was arrested with 11 stolen iPhones, appeared at the Federal High Court in Lagos about three years ago.

Notice that Seun Egbegbe was also accused of scamming no fewer than 30 Lagos bureau de change operators of various amounts in local and foreign currencies between 2015 and 2017, placing a total sum of N39, 098,100, $90,000 and £12,550.

Alongside his alleged accomplices, Oyekan Ayomide, Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf and Muyideen Shoyombo, Seun Egbegbe is currently facing 40 counts.

He was first arraigned in February 2017 before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo.

To testify in the event, the police had gathered no less than 30 BDC operators.

All the defendants, except Egbegbe, who is having trouble paying legal bills, lodged no-case submissions following the conclusion of the prosecution’s case.

They claimed that Innocent Anyigor, the police prosecutor, refused to create a prima facie case or prove the charges against them.

But the police have resisted their no-case applications.

On the no-case submissions today, Justice Oguntoyinbo is to take up arguments.

They pray that the court will ignore the claims and set them free.
