Nse Ikpe-Etim, a veteran Nollywood actress, sometimes reveals how she removed her uterus in order to survive a sickness that affects the womb.
The 47-year-old movie star said she later came to find out that the surgery she underwent for hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) meant she would never be able to bear children as a woman.
While speaking in an interview she attended recently, she revealed how she feels about not being able to get pregnant. According to her, she was never ashamed of the situation because, where she comes from, they don’t feel any shame at all. Rather, she’s only feeling inadequate as a woman who can’t bear children.
Nse Ikpe-Etim’s situation is not just a story but an encouragement to women everywhere that they should not be ashamed of what they’re going through. It’s only when you stand firm that you can be able to live above the situations that should be a blockage to your happiness.
