Odunare Olalekan, a 21-year-old man, was caught on camera jumping into a lagoon in Epe local government area of Lagos state around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14.
The victim was seen in a viral video sitting on the railing of a bridge before plunging into the lagoon. He is said to be an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) holder and a worker at Alaro City, a mega estate located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The individual who recorded the tragic episode was heard questioning the victim about his identify, but the victim, who appeared agitated and distressed, did not react.
His body has yet to be recovered from the lagoon as of the time of reporting this article.
It was also discovered that the young man, who is presumed dead, left a one-year-old child for his 19-year-old girlfriend.
Before leaving, he allegedly told her to take care of their child.
